Fareed Haque
Life and all its Changes.
It’s a time of transition for me. My father is ill but recovering thank God. My mom is 83 and needs her son now. It’s been amazing to see our family pull together. Thanks to all of you, you know who you are. In the meantime music marches on… With the release of Out of Nowhere I am once again playing straight-ahead jazz! Recently added are five bonus tracks. Standards and ballads featuring Billy Hart and George Mraz. We are also in the midst of the final mix of The Hymn of The Ancients Record. To be released on Delmark Records. I managed to get the incredible Nirmalya Roy On vocals, as well as Elihu Conant Haque on percussion. This recording also features the beautiful instrument built for me by Brian Galloup. In the meantime I’m gearing up for a series of gigs with guitar virtuoso Paul Moeller. This is a straight classical guitar duo with original arrangements and some Improvisation. We will be recording and filming a live CD beginning of this coming month and are intensely rehearsing. Struggling between which guitar to play Edgar Monch 1971? Or Sam Guidry 2013? Such problems.
