'Out in Tihai Country' is an out-take from my latest release Flat Planet. This tune came out of a tihai [ short indian rhythmic phrase that repeats three times] taught to me by Jim Feist. Since he is a tocacco chewing, joke telling, Ohio based ex steel worker tabla virtuoso, my dear JIM is about the 'Countriest' Tabla player ever!!!! So we called this one OUT IN TIHAI COUNTRY in honor of the only tabla playing good ol boy i know!
I had just written this tune, and in the middle of the tour after recordng this we came up with a whole new arrangement so check this one out, and then check out the new arr on the next Flat Earth Ensemble recording...hope you like the newer version better...but you never KNOW!
I trascribed these Italian baroque pieces by Benedetto Marcello for a recording for Dean Kamei and GSP records, but we've both been too busy to put it out!
